Coolant Temps
Temp
Well guess i'm in the high boat. In Las Vegas were it gets into the 110 to 120 range during the summer, my temp has been as high as 230. I took to dealer as well and they(service dept) said that was a normal range for the car and not to worry. Yea right, for most cars 230 is dead zone. I find myself checking often, not sure if I like the digital readout thing. May go to Auto Meter gauge so I can see better what's going on with the motor.
At what temp should the fans kick, the most I have seen on mine was 223F(once), and that was in stop and go traffic, but it automatically starts going back down when moving and the rest of the time. Pretty much want stays between 183-185

I actually asked our dealer what the normal op. temp is for the cobalt. They said the Fans are designed to kick on at 230 Degrees and keep running until it drops to 217 or so.
However the other day the fan in the car finally kicked on and it was more like around 223 degrees or so. After a couple of minutes the temp dropped like a rock back down to the 190's.
4 cylinder engines do run hotter, but even so 230 degrees seems pretty high to me. heh, I think I prefer a standard gauge over the digital one, it makes me paranoid.
and yeah, it seems to run cooler with the A/C on, go figure huh? must be the compressor fan cooling the radiator a bit.

While i was in the staging lanes my 2.4 got upto 220 sumthin. Cooled down once i mad a run and got some airflow over it. It still seamed to hover in the 200s while i was waiting my turn.
