I was pulling out from a redlight real quick earlier and I went to shift into second when I got close to redline. I'm not sure if I dumped the clutch too early or what, but I heard this horrible sound and the RPMs went to 7500ish. It didnt sound like a regular gear grinding. Everything worked fine after. I'm wondering if I really damaged my clutch. I'm new to a stick and don't know how much they can take before they start slipping.

 

Your car shouldn't have gone to 7500 because it electronically limited to 6500.

 

That is what I thought too, but the RPM gauge did read 7500. I guess it could have done that in error?
