Differences between Cavalier F23 and Cobalt F23

What are they? I know at least the casing is different but I wondered if there would be any issue swapping internals. Surely the guts of all F23 transmissions are the same?

What I have gathered so far from looking on the internet but cannot garantee it is correct.
-Casings are different but all casings and internals are interchangeable
-Internals should be the same except for final drive. Cobalt has 3.84 and the Cavy has 3.94. Wouldn't the 3.94 be a better ratio for acceleration?

If anyone knows differently let me know.

the guts should all be the same aside from the final drive ratio. the f23 had a number of final drive ratios. aside from the ones you mentioned, there was a 3.63 in the cobalt xfe, a 4.17 in the hhr, and 4.41 in the saturn vue.

i asked that wrong. I mean to say will a f23 off a cobalt bolt onto a gen 1 block. I have an 07 cobalt and recently purchased a built and turbo l61 that has a quaife lsd out of a 02 cavalier. Gotta swap the cranks and heads to make it ez pz
