Double clutching?

Not at all recommenced in modern transmissions. It was used back in the day to align the gears inside the transmission when syncros were not present or sucked very badly. Double clutching can be done on upshifts if you really wanted.

Clutch is what you press when you come to a complete stop, or when your starting. Other than that, you don't touch it. You shift without it.
Want me to give you the phone numbers of over 30 professional long-haul truck drivers so you can ask them yourself?

Sounds like your father is the idiot no offense. Working at a Kenworth dealer I think I know. Most transmission failures that come through our shop are from guys who use the clutch.
Hint: The answer is not 9
Dude I almost had you. lol.
Vin Diesels character used "double clutching" improperly. What he should have said was powershifting or "kicking the clutch". Thats basically just keeping your foot planted all the way on the gas, kicking the clutch to the floor and shifting as fast as you can. Its really really bad for your clutch and synchros.

No it's not.

Then your dad is killing his leg and clutch for absolutely nothing.

I just asked my dad who has been a truck driver for 30 years now and he said he doesn't use the clutch during upshifts and only certain times during downshifts when you can't afford to miss a gear.
im going to ask this, im waiting for the tounge lashing, whats rev matchin. ive only owned 2 manual cars and i didnt drive them much. always clutched to up shift and waited for the car to slow down before i clutched to a lower gear. or id go 1,2,3,5
