Drive Axle reinstall HELP

im having a little trouble reinserting the passenger front drive axle. I got everything clean and a little lube, the spindle teeth are lined up but im guessing its the little C ring that is probally what is stopping the drive axle from fully inserting. I dont want to bang the C/V joint up so does anyone have some tips on getting the axle back into the tranny?

Thanks

there is a small dent in the outer end of the axle...use a punch or something that will settle in the dent and hit it with a hammer. firm but dont slip and mess up the end. if you just whack it, you;ll likely mushroom the splines over.

Are you talking about the cast iron metal after the boot? I've noticed the metal housing around the spline has flat edges that I use to pry it out. Thanks for reply!

Any more tips are appreciated!! Thanks

Deadblow hammer works the best. Soft material so it doesn't damage the threads
