DriveShaftShop Level 5 axles
DriveShaftShop Level 5 axles
If I have my engine fully build with a turbo kit running a 62/62, trying to put down 600whp or maybe more, would I need to buy those axles or it would be a waste of money?
Are you sure? I don't want to take the chance to have my cat towed home because of an axle failure. Also, are they just stronger axles or they help a little bit as far as traction and wheel hop?
the axles wont help with wheel hop thats what the motor mounts will help with. As far as a definite answer im not 100% sure. I know that I'm currently at 572whp and I'm having to watch my transmission before my axles. The transmission will go before the axles.
the dss level 5's are for lsj's. theyre LNF hubs, spindles, and control arms. and beefed up lnf axles. aka LNF stage2 axles.
and 3rd will probably go before an axle. unless you just twist it apart on a launch.

Axles? What have you done to your tranny to handle 600 whp?? I need something before spring too
I keep hearing about ZFR's blowing trannies in less than 6 months time.. haven't heard anything about a single axle blowing up.
Care to enlighten me on your tranny solution? :P And any of you high hp guys as well. Not meant as sarcasm either.. I really need/want to know

Its kind of funny how people point the finger at specific turbos and increased power for blowing up transmissions all the time. It doesn't matter who's stuff or what the time limit you have the stuff on the car for is. The fact there's increased torque is going to do damage sooner or later. Half of the battle is improper launching, sticky tires, wheel hop, and poor driving. Theres guys that break stock axles on the stock turbos which if you ask me is ridiculous. The lnf axles are beefy as can be. Dss will build anything you want. They build our solstice axles which are good for 1000hp
You need to ditch the ttr ottp mount setup in favor for a full line of ttr or Zzp or Powell mounts. Personally I don't think rotated mounts should be run with a engine mount that limits the rotation of the engine. So to me you pick one or the other.

they will do whatever you want more or less. does it hurt to upgrade? no but if all your going to be doing is road racing or highway pulls dont even bother with upgrading the axles. 90% of the wear and tear on them is caused from hard launches on sticky tires or improper launching and wheel hop
Wow.. serious? So a clutch upgrade by itself might hold 500 whp w/o too much problem? I suppose it depends on how well each individual tranny/axle is built too right? Hmmm...
