Dynoed the Harrop, Broke it at the track

So I got the thing tuned up decently still a bit rich in the low 11s put down 278whp and 261tq at the GM Tuner Bash in Ohio, modest timing only 13-17 degrees, no meth injection yet, this was on the 75mm

Then I went to the track and busted the flex pipe off the ZZP Midlength Combo I got like 2 weeks ago!

So whats the deal on solid motor mounts , good or bad, brands, tranny a bad idea?

I've heard ppl breaking them off the F35 casing

I have solid mounts, I LOVE the vibes given off by the engine, but it tends to make a few things rattle occasionally =[

Yea kinda funny that a flexpipe doesnt do what its designed to, I just hope I can get the POS fixed by someone that actually knows what they are doing.

I have a torque dampener and the ingalls right now

I hate vibes, I do not want my car to be a huge ***** like my cav was, felt like the thing was going to fly apart at 80mph

its probably the angle of the piping with the flex in it. i dont have one in front of me, but it seems like a pretty solid angle from the ground. the stock dp is more in line straight out of the header. i dont know how to explain it, but i hope people get what im trying to say.

the angle that the new flex pipe is at might me akward in relation to the engine movement. it seems like when the motor rocks back it would try to compress it like an accordian, which is why they are peobably breaking. the zzp seems like it comes more across and up into the rotation, while the stock flexpipe is closer to a perpendicular angle to the engine rock.

just my .02

elaborate...?
wouldnt 2 cars making 270hp have very nearly the same airflow, regardless of what blower?

ingalls yea thats what i meant lol, thats it as far as anything more than stock to try to hold the motor in place

right near redline if i try pushing past 17 degrees i get slight knock, thats prob more due to intake temps than anything else, when i get the water injection working ill be able to give it more

Yep, your IAT's are gonna be too high with a 75mm w/o cooling

liters of air per rotation. the tvs moves more air. cylinder pressures. temperatures. blah blah blah

I agree, it certainly has the potential to move more air.

but wouldnt the air consumption for a 270hp M62 cobalt be almost identical to a 270hp tvs cobalt?

not exactly. this is where the fatal flaw of trying to compare dyno's comes into play.

well, errors in measurement aside,
the point im getting at, is i dont see the reason for such low timing.
just doesnt seem to make much sense.
ive heard rumblings of this issue a few times from other people who have the harrop,
just trying to dig and get all the information i can, as im considering dropping a big chunk of change on one.
