Exedy Clutch Torque Rating?!?

So I have a Exedy Stage 3 clutch kit on its way to me. I was told it has a 450tq rating, but now that I'm digging up more info on it I read that it's only good for 280wtq if your drag racing, which is all I do. It this true? If so I guess I just wasted my damn money again on this car.

It's the Hyper Single, most vendors list it as Stage 3. Here's the link http://www.exedyusa.com/race/GH02SD

So I'm looking and I don't see where I got Stage 3 from, nevermind that. But they list it as 450hp.

Well in the future when I go turbo I don't want to have to change the clutch again.

thats cuz drag racing puts alot more load on the car than track or street. cuz your dumping the clutch at higher rpm then u would in road racing or auto cross. but i think the twindisk should easily handle 500tq for drag racing, their just being conservative.

I am definitely going the exedy route myself. and for the record I've been making @270 wtq for almost a year now and still use the stock clutch, over 35-40 passes at the track and a few street races and many WOT pulls and never slips. So if it can handle that, I don't think the exedy will have a problem

Excellent, great news guys. My clutch has been fine till the drag radials. The Exedy should be perfect for me!
