i have seen more people break f35's than f23's. f23's have a simple 3 shaft design unlike the f35 which likes to strip 3 gears. here is a vid on bill hahn jr's streetfire account. stock f23 is listed in the captions

the f23 has a max gearbox torque rating of only 170 ft-lbs? i know that you can usually push it over that but i doubt that sunfire has a stock f23 in it...

http://www.gminsidenews.com/index.php?page=trans_guide

btw the f35 is rated to 258 ft-lb

i've never been able to understand your dyno hucker. straight up. lol

lol i doubt hahn has done 800 runs on their f23. the f23 is under rated. it's been known to hold 300ft/lbs no problems in stock form.

hucker has been NLS'ing a lot, doing very hard launches with tires that have far more grip. with 800 runs and his fast street driving, it doesn't surprise me to see it now damaged. lol just glad he's got the money to fix it.

you even know the whole saga

1.i bought a tranny from LKQ.com.
2.decide to put a stg1 clutch(worst move i ever done)
3.never able to engaged it
4.put a adjustable rod.
5.bleed for ever and nothing
6.during 2 month i ve massacred lkq tranny
7.back to lkq to try to get a other one
8.lkq gave me one and i keep the current one
9.i need to put my first sleeve in the tranny.
10. put back my eom clutch

i can now shift as quick as i can do
cost me around 1800$ here

F23 is a really stout transmission. GM trannies are only ever really rated for as much torque as theyll see in the stock application.... Has virtually nothing to do with how much torque it CAN actually hold.

Huckernages transmission suffered from the race track, even if I didnt know who he was i would have guessed that, hid differential pinion gears failed and the chunks from them tore up the rest of the gears. This is a really common failure mode in cars that are drag race wirth an open diff. There are no bearings on those "spider" gears in the diff, they heat up real quick, and this is the result of excessive time spent under those conditions.

I beat the relentless crap out of my F23 for 2 years and LOTS of miles, I no lift shift all the time, and I only ever once in a while get a hop out of second as the result....I think I know how to drive and the trans has held up wonderfully. People who screw up shifts on a regular basis are the ones who blow trannies with low mileage and low usage.

F23 needs a LSD, good fluid all the time, and its good to go.
