Hey guys,
As the people with the 2.2L manual's know, our front trans mounts are plastic. I've been looking around and cant see to find an aftermarket one anywhere. My dad owns a precision CNC shop and i'm thinking off making a mount of aluminum for myself. If it works out well would anyone else be interested in one? Still in R&D stage so just stay tuned! Thanks guys!

im a vendor here we already do and sell an F23 composite rotated mount. If thats not good enough, sign up as a vendor maybe and see how the market goes. Vendors have been know to copy our stuff; all the best

They don't sell them on the site. You have to email them. I have one and it's fantastic. So do some high horsepower 2.2/2.4s. There's nothing wrong with using plastic. The Powell mount is a stock plastic mount with a new redesigned insert that puts the driveline in the CORRECT position. Simply making a stock mount out of medal will not help anything. If you don't put the driveline where it should have been in the first place you won't eliminate wheel hop without adding vibration(poly bushings, motor mount). John's mount adds VERY LITTLE vibration. Almost not noticeable. And it's only $150ish. You won't make a CNC'd mount for less. And like I said, without putting a redesigned bushing in, you won't stop wheel hop.

I beg to differ on the 'barely noticeable' comment. A friend of mine has the Powell mounts in his 2.2 LS and there are definitely vibes from them. Given the Cobalt isn't exactly well made, they do create rattles inside (or make existing ones more noticeable). That said, they do work wonders. I would get them for my car if I were making any real power.

Just want to make sure people get the real story cause I know personally the rattles would drive me nuts over time, but others may not care.

Probably installed them wrong. If you don't torque bolts in the recommended order you will get vibrations.

Yeah the site is meant for their racing clients. I heard that a site was being made for Cobalt parts but that may not be true. Idk. It would be nice if they made a site or added to the existing one.

Yeah on the vibration.... I get vibration at idle, but is minimal I bet I would get more if I were using poly mounts. I have used both but not on the same car and poly mounts creates alot more. the rotated mounts are the best mod Ive done and bye bye wheel hop. I got scared because I thought I broke an axel after the track due to so much wheel hop.

I went through alot of emails to order one lol but go it finally and customer service was good to me.

The engineers, in a brilliantly stupid lack of planning, designed the mounts with the automatic transmission in it. This puts the driveline out of line when they're used with the manual transmission. That's why we get wheel hop. I don't fully understand the geometry but John could explain it better if he pops back in.

You know, supporting vendors with empty garages really should do more customer service, as soon as you threaten his sales he popped up, but didn't show his face when asked to show a couple pics or link to the actual product.
O.K. so you have to email them, fine I get it but can't you take a couple pics of your finished product with price in your garage?
I mean it's hard enough to find as it is hence the lack in availability and sales on the actual product.
