F35 Dog bone gears

Well, I'm talking to ppgearbox and andrewtechautomotive right now and trying to strengthen our transmissions. The f35 specifically. I told them I wanted dog bone gears for 1-2-3 gears. They told me I may have to do all the gears depending on the way our transmissions are. Now I don't expect to get a response asap, as andrewtech is just one of the US dealers for ppgearbox. PPgearbox is in australia. But, this is great news for us F35 tranny guys and we may have some bad ass tranny internals soon. I'll keep this thread updated and I do plan to get dog bone gears.

thats straight cut gears with dog ring shift engagement no synchromesh. big bucks. whines a lot (folks will think you have a supercharger lol) Big bucks. The Hollinger 6 speed straight cut dog ring sequential shift gear box we put in a Z06 is 35,000 bucks installed...

EGT hewland transverse straight cut sequential gearbox 12855 British pounds plus custom bell housing wanna go fast how much money you got interchangeable gear rations pick what you want, quick change etc http://www.hewland.com/svga/productrange/egt.htm

I'm negotiating with them now. This is in the info/research stage. More to come of course.

your best bet is to pick up a final drive from a cobalt ss turbo or get one from john (qwikredline). The downfall is that your acceleration is going to suck bad. So you better be making a **** ton of power. Our gears are already stupidly long.

dog box, gear set, gears, whatever. Point is, trying to strengthen this bitch up. From the research I've done, my 2nd gear is the most prone to explode. I don't want that to happen. So I'll be doing clutch, axles, and strengthening my gears somehow all at once. It'll be cryo treating or dog bone either way, it'll be stronger.

ran a dog box in my BP escort, fantastic fun to shift, and it'll take all sorts of abuse.

Dog bone gears are also commonly refered to as dog teeth gears for the visual likeness to dog's teeth on older chevy and ford transmissions.

Not trying to correct anyone just figured it is good trivia.
Gook luck f23 guys.

This could be fun... I could cause some damage with a real tranny that I wasn't worried about breaking

Split the tranny. Bit of a job. Not bad if you already have it apart...

Not for the weak.
Special / custom tools needed... and a fair bit of knowledge of transmission internals.

Same bolt pattern.
Might want to check to see if there are any issues with the clutch/flywheel assembly, though.
