F35, final stand.

Hi everyone,

Look I don't want to beat a dead horse here but what is going on with this transmission in regards to researching info on maybe making this thing stronger. Hell, how about switching it out with the F40. I went to a Tranny shop here and had then take a look. He mentioned something about putting in Synchro's? What would does do? There is no one out there that is taking an interest in trying to build us something to better the F35? THanks

You dont want the F40-6, forget about that trans.
The F35 is plenty strong......if you have shifting issues and need synchros, thats not a strength concern. Why do you suppose it is that the guys/gals with really powerful cars arent blowing out trannies left and right, and the Koni/GAC/T3 guys arent blowing through them????????????

Because they don't suck ass at driving like the Op potentially/ probably does?

OP don't bother with a trans swap.

ya tranny swaps are worthless, i have seen these trannys take a very severe beating and survive, you just have to know how to drive

I try to present the facts and let people take what they will from them.....unless I feel it necessary to point out the painfully obvious

Hey Guys,

THanks guys, I'll just leave it as it is. With increasing the power, I should get a better clutch though right?

there are 400+whp cobalts on a stock clutch...but seeing as how a LOT of cobalt owners cant seem to do this without frying the stocker...you might want one. Apparnetly theres a lot of members on here who cant drive...

lucky me, im an auto, and dont have to worry

This isn't my first manual car people. I know how to shift and not burn out a clutch. I'm only preparing the car if it needs it. Aparently it does not, so I won't worry. That doesn't make me a bad driver. **** YOU COCKY BASTARDS.

Its just the interweb man, calm down.....

You dont need to upgrade your trans, and there is really only one over the counter upgrade anyway, and itll run you well over $5000 installed, and it still wont get rid of potential synchronizer issues.

Your clutch is plenty good enough to autx with, when it wears out get another one.

No reason to upgrade unless you want to switch for some reason or if you like having a harder clutch pedal

I was actually thinking about buying another one and storing it for now, just in case later down the road like at 70k miles it blew, you know.

I'll put in my 2 cents. There are indeed people with a good deal of power (TVS type power) who still run the stock clutch, the clutches do seem rather hit or miss, so if you get a good deal on one. Hell, buy it and keep it around for a rainy day. As for the F35, I'm fairy sure the Hahn guys are running one with upgraded internals in their Sunfire that's in the 10's, and hope to all that is holy you're not thinking of making that kind of power on an Auto X setup, lol. They were telling us about how they're actually a very stout tranny. Try talking to them, they may be able to steer you in the right direction, they seem like really good guys about that stuff. Good luck man!

the f35, even when pushed with the tvs onboard can handle the power just fine. I thought ahead, just like you and bought an aftermarket unit that just got installed and not because the clutch couldn't cut it. and I am an FC as well onboard uss mason.
