Front Suspension Noise

I hear this clunking noise on the passenger side. It's not always when going over bumps but that's when I hear it most. (Yes I searched - there's more)

I am able to repeat the noise (although it's quiet and not 100% repeatable but sometimes) by idling, stopped on flat surface, and moving the steering wheel left to right and back.

I'm not an expert by any means which is why I'm posting. I checked both sides for tears in the boots and tried wiggling the shafts. Car was still on the ground though.

The only thing I noticed is the axle shafts will move a little. (I think it's thrust, not sure) When you pull or push like you're trying to pull it out of the trans or push it in. They will not budge when pulling as if you are trying to snap them off. If that makes sense. I think that movement is normal though if I remember.

Perhaps it's just a strut mount. Sway bar is tight as well.

Sounds like sway bar end links.

Get the Moog replacements, they're bigger, stronger, and cheaper than stock. Get Powergrid if you want to spend the money and want the best.

Thanks man.

I searched around and found the powergrid ones. Not too excited to drop that kind of cash on those.

I searched for the Moog ones. Any ideas where to buy them and which ones? I found some threads of people who found two different sets (two different part numbers) for the FE5 suspension. I'll keep looking though. Neither one ended up pointing out where to actually get them and which ones. I checked Moog and nothing even comes up although I'm sure the parts exist.

EDIT: One, I guess this thread belongs in suspension. Just noticed. Oops. Sorry.
Two, you are correct. I went out and checked again. If I grab an endlink and pull or push a certain direction it makes the noise. That's DEFINITELY it. So I feel a bit better knowing. Are those links able to be greased? They have rubber on them like grease goes in there but no nipple. There's a little hole there like maybe a nipple could be screwed in though. Not sure on that. They seem flat if there is in fact supposed to be some grease in there. Maybe just maintenance free.

Yes, most of the time that noise is the end links. The stockers aren't greasable or serviceable. The Moogs are in their 'Problem Solver' line of products which means they are better engineered. They're greasable and thicker and strong than stock. Advance Auto Parts carries them locally usually or www.rockauto.com carries them for sure. I believe I have bought them from both places before. They are cheap too, only about $20-30 a piece instead of $150+. I have a bunch of Moog stuff on my front suspension from when I rebuilt it, and the stuff is good quality.
