this is actually for a friend. So when he is shiting through 1-4 its all good. But when he shifts to 5th he says it grinds for the first second then it goes into gear. Apparently it only happens when going into 5th and only for the second. other then that the gear works fine. and guesses on what it could be?

 

not an expert by any means, but maybe the synchro?

 

It's odd to hear of a 5th gear synchro shitting the bed. Normally that is the least abused synchro, therefore the least likely to fail. Anything is possible though.

but yeah its your synchros... i had the same problem
