GM LSJ Upgrade Clutch

It's time to replace my clutch. Who of you are using this and would you recommend it?
Should I get a new flywheel? Is there anything else I should add to my CED order that should be replaced at the same time to save labor costs down the road?

Clutch works great. Not one problem with it. I went with a new flywheel to make the install a 1 day job so I didn't have to worry about resurfacing the stock flywheel. Make sure you pick up new flywheel bolts if you get a new one since they are torque to yield.

I got a new clutch pipe, flywheel, bolts, LNF shifter bracket, and oil to change the tranny fluid.

I just put one in a few months ago. Great clutch, fits perfect. I also did new flywheel, figured might as well. Need new bolts for everything, as well as a reverse torx bit for the pressure plate bolts. We had to drive to the store and buy a set in the middle of the job.

Need TOB, clutch pipe, tranny fluid, all bolts. We did it in 1 long ass day!

LSJ Shift Cable Cable Upgrade Bracket 55563732

That's the shift bracket. Super easy to do when trans out. Get what is mentioned above. I just did mine a month or so ago. I got trans fluid, bracket, axle seals, flywheel bolts, clutch pipe and gm clutch kit. Just had a spare flywheel resurfaced before hand. Was done in a day. Bleeding is a beotch!!

Done this kit in two of my cars already.

I didn't get new axle seals. No need to.

For bleeding, vacuum bleed it. Piece of cake. No mess.

We did the whole job in about 6hrs with post lift and air tools.

Holds a lot more power than it is rated for, says 300 but I know a few guys that are well over that with no issues. Oh and I have it too

I only did axle seals on mine because they were both leaking and easier to do while out. If yours are good just lube up the seal before putting the axles back in to not damage it like Mr b mentioned.

And yes 2 seals.

Anyone found the limit of this clutch yet? Wondering if it will hold over 350ftlbs, seem like guys are beating on it and the clutch is taking it well.

This is info I was looking for as well. It's not out there. Some people are holding over 425 on it, but no one ever comments on how many miles.

Most people seem to say the tune has a lot to do with it
Get a good tuner boost ramp is your clutch and trans best friend especially on the stock turbo
Just like the very similar stock lnf clutch they are pretty tough

I upgraded and went with the gmpp as I had problems right as I bought the car. The gmpp will hold a fir amount of power and holds very well for me being stage 3 full bolt ons..I ordered mine at the dealer and had the clutch pipe installed too..You will be happy with gmpp

Sorry to bump an old post but I'm about to order my gmpp clutch, and I read through this and saw that some people had the stock flywheel turned, and had problems with clamping force. I have two used stock flywheels, and would rather turn one than buy one, if I can. That being said, how much machining is too much?

It is hard to tell. As little as possible. There is no magic numbers.

So the guy who had the problem probably didn't have the lip machined the same as the face, reducing clamping force?

And is this something car quest or local auto shop can do?

I would seriously hope there was not a shop in business that did not know this.

Not necessarily. If they take off too much you will have the same problems.
