Sorry, I didn't mean to come across that way.

I found references to the Getrag F23 transmission on the GM Media website.
http://www.media.gm.com/us/powertrai...23_M86_MG3.doc
specifically "The F23 uses DEXRON III for 2007, and are filled-for-life, requiring no fluid changes for normal duty service." The key phrase here being "normal duty service"

My 08 warranty and maintenance booklet is a generic GM booklet applying to all vehicle lines, but on page 58 it states that the "automatic transmission fluid" has to be changed if vehicle usage falls into the severe usage category. It is rather wordy so I am not going to quote it. It doesn't specify auto or manual trans. Only auto trans fluid.

Specifically in my owner's manual section 6-6, Additional Required Services, requires " 50,000 mi/80,000 km Change automatic transmission fluid and filter. (severe service only). See footnote (h)" There is no actual mention of either auto or manual transmission, only auto trans fluid. Footnote (h) basically defines severe service, however the last line states "If you do not use your vehicle under any of these condtions, the fluid and filter do not require changing."

So in a nutshell, if your car is subjected to "severe service" conditions, then change it at 80,000 kms, otherwise you are home free.

That makes sense. I know it was very hard to find initially, but that was a couple of years ago.

alright thank you for that info. Now the big question, would i fall under normal driving? this car has made 8 passes on the strip, and probably going to have another 2-3 more. Its not much, and the rest of the time its a daily driver, i dont beat on it for daily driving. So would i fall under normal driving or is make a few passes down the track risking it?

You would fall under normal driving. An example of driving that would require different fluid would be road racing (not auto cross).
