Half shaft problem

Has anyone had a problem having there half shaft bracket line up right ? the motor blew, swapped in a motor from a 07ss, the car is an 05... tranny is from the car. but once i had it all back in, the half shaft is off by about a 1/4 of an inch, none of the 3 bolt holes line up.

its like the half shaft has to go into the tranny another 1/4 of an inch... any thoughts ?

take a wire brush and clean all the diff end splines of the intermediate shaft really well, all the way out till the splines end.
