make sure your floor mats are out of the way of the clutch pedal.

I'm wondering if it's the linkage and not the transmission itself. My 2.2 had a fit one day in the cold where it started popping out of 2nd/4th and from there I lost both of them all together. I started limping to the garage in 1st/3rd and after hammering up and down the ***** finally loosened up and stayed in 2nd/4th and never did it again.

If you've completely lost everything your linkage could be the culprit not the tranny itself...last I heard the linkage was on backorder but hopefully that has changed by now.

I'm going to check the linkage tomorrow, thanks for the input

Does anyone know where I can buy a complete gearset to rebuild the trans if it needs it?

well here's a little update. The car goes in gear fine and drives fine when its cold...but once it warms up it starts acting up and becomes increasingly difficult to get into a gear. Also sometimes when I start it with it in gear and the clutch still pushed in it bogs and stalls out.

I don't think its a clutch issue...i just replaced it in november with a clutchmasters.

are there any websites to order gearsets? All I can find is complete transmissions and I really don't want to buy another one. I should be able to rebuild my tranny at school if it needs a rebuild

Slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder is my guess. When it's cold, the brake fluid is thicker and it does not leak past the seals as easy, hence the easier operation when cold. The fact that its dragging the engine down when you start it tells me the clutch is not fully disengaging.

You did replace the slave assy and bleed the system when you did the clutch, right?

I did not replace the slave when I did the clutch..but yes I did bleed it.

Thanks for the good info dude The shop I took it to said they won't touch it, because it has too many "modifcations" which is bullshit.. so I think I'm going to replace the slave and master when I get it

i am facin the same problem but worse. mine doesnt go in any gear when its warmed up. my pressure plate is eating the throw out bearing. its a spec stg 2+. everytime i changed the throw out bearing it will work for a month then become impossible to drive again. i am gettin rid of the whole set up and gettin an exedy oem replacement bc i couldnt afford the centerforce dfx since its the same price as my house note. on mine also since its eatin up all the throw out bearings its causing them to bleed. i didnt see you mention anything about the throw out bearing is that new or used?

well my car is modded, solid trans mounts, centerforce clutch, intake, exhaust...etc.

I don't think they would touch the trans with the things i have done

well I think I grenaded the trans..when I drained the fluid, it looked like purple metallic paint due to all the metal shavings mixed with the royal purple haha.

So i started dropping it today, got the subframe out ...trans tomorrow

My car started to do that last week, i didn't think it was a clutch problem either. so i took it to the dealer hoping the warranty i have would cover it. but oh no, they said it was the clutch. so i parked the car and canceled the insurance. :-( don't have the money yet to buy a new clutch. just hit 50k too so it could use some time off.. when i do have the money i was thinking of getting that centerforce clutch/flywheel kit? any complaints about that clutch?

Bought a 07 ss/sc.
Was making a noise the day after i bought it( just my luck)
My Boss and coworker worked at ford and they said it was my tjrowout bearing.
(Was Making a.crazy noise with clutch not in, when i pushed in clutch noise stopped.

I had the same problem. My trans at first wouldn't take a load passed 5K. It was like the clutch wouldn't disengage. I couldn't shift to any other gears so I'd have to coast and let it sit, bang through the positions and still nothing. It would go into reverse but the motor would torque hard and drop everytime you put it in reverse when it was like that. On more than one occassion when you would attempt to put into gear they would grind (this is still being stranded waiting for the trans to act right). After it would finally act right and drive normally, you couldn't shift to first without it grinding unless you were completely stopped. Finally one day, when I went to shift gears, they would grind unless you held the shifter hard into the gear. There was no catch points. If the shifter moved slightly, it would pop out of gear...then at the end of the day, all the gears went out. You can shift through them all and there's nothing. Not even reverse. My dad checked the cables thinking it might've been something with them but to no avail. We're looking around for a used one with low miles but most everyone we find is selling them with upwards of 120K and wanting close to a grand for them....Rebuilds are around $2300.
