heavy jerking in first/second
heavy jerking in first/second
when i get goin in first gear, my car jerks really bad, as well in second. ill be at 3k rpms in second gear and my car will jerk but if i floor it it will stop. i had my buddy test drive my car and he said that the gas pedal is really sensitive. this doesnt happen all the time just sometimes. any way to fix that or is something else wrong? and help would be great
thanks
thanks
Throttle tip-in is too sensitive IMO with Cobalts. Plus there is some "elastic band" effect from the motor mounts which exacerbates the problem making smooth shifts difficult. I have the Powell rotated mounts in my car, and it helped.
Are you saying the car jerks while shifting, or after the shift is completed and you are accelerating?

I've noticed that with some of the manual's.. The Cavaliers did that too. It's just a really sensitive system. But with some work, you should get the kinks out.
However, I'd suggest not using heavy and jerking together in a title again. lol

Something you have to get used to in this car, and it annoyed me too until i got used to it
when making the shift from first to second never do so at anything less than 3000-3500rpm, if you do it will bog and carry on as soon as your in second and roll back on the gas

I noticed the same thing if i shift below 3000 in first then it bogs down horribly.
lol..
torque steer, happens in high hp fwd applications. The tranny issue is the shitty cobalt clutch. Plastic pedals and mounts = flimsy crap shifts. Can't wait to make some aluminum pedal arms and mounts.

i just got the car not to long ago, ive gotten used to it but even still, in 2nd gear if i punch it then let off it jerks bad hah..maybe thats just how they are im guessing
no sir, what i meant was it did it to him too
You just don't know how to drive the car. You answered your own question when you say your buddy confirmed it.
