Throttle tip-in is too sensitive IMO with Cobalts. Plus there is some "elastic band" effect from the motor mounts which exacerbates the problem making smooth shifts difficult. I have the Powell rotated mounts in my car, and it helped.

Are you saying the car jerks while shifting, or after the shift is completed and you are accelerating?

I've noticed that with some of the manual's.. The Cavaliers did that too. It's just a really sensitive system. But with some work, you should get the kinks out.

However, I'd suggest not using heavy and jerking together in a title again. lol

Learn to drive it better.

I had the same problem when I first got my 'balt, you learn to adapt.

Unless it's bogging, that's something different.

I've noticed that mine will jerk sometimes, but only when real cold outside until she warms up.

You just don't know how to drive the car. You answered your own question when you say your buddy confirmed it.

Yeah it's pretty much just getting used to the car. I had the same problem it's a lot more sensitive than other sticks i've driven.

Something you have to get used to in this car, and it annoyed me too until i got used to it

when making the shift from first to second never do so at anything less than 3000-3500rpm, if you do it will bog and carry on as soon as your in second and roll back on the gas

I noticed the same thing if i shift below 3000 in first then it bogs down horribly.

let it warm up longer, jumping in after start up usually results in more jerking. release clutch smoothly and no sudden movements on gas pedal till trans is warm.

Yup, thanks to terrible 15yr old gearing. I shift at about 3500rpm in first

uhh, check your tire pressure or tread, it shouldnt be doing that. Well, mine doesnt, unless my air pressure is out of whack...

torque steer, happens in high hp fwd applications. The tranny issue is the shitty cobalt clutch. Plastic pedals and mounts = flimsy crap shifts. Can't wait to make some aluminum pedal arms and mounts.

learn how to drive it and also install ottp stage 1 rotated tranny mount, this will cure most that bucking and torque steer at boost.
