Yes it will. You will need all the accessories with it to fit, like the manifold and all the little ****.. Search around a little bit and you find what you need.. Or (j-body.org) will have more of the cavalier selection you want and it's an great site

GM made a supercharger kit for the 2.4s, but I don't think they made anything for the 2.2. Also, your engine isn't an Ecotec, those didn't go into Cavliers until 03, so there may not be parts out there to make an SS supercharger work. A quick search shows your engine has 115hp, and you probably won't be able to run more than 4 to 6 psi of boost. So, theoretically, you probably could expect 175hp at most. Which would probably give you around a mid 15 second quarter mile. Even if you pull off more power, you'd probably be near the limit of the transmission. I had a 2000 Z24 some years ago and considered dropping a couple grand on a kit, but realized I wasn't really going to get much back. So, I bought a GTP.

There are 2.2L cobalt owners on here with SC's.

However, as stated above me, the engine is a different type. Our 2.2L guys just swap in compatable parts from our 2.0. You may not have that luxury.

But as far as the SC itself, it's just a SC, it is universal -- just an M62 roots-style blower made by a 3rd party company. It's the connecting parts that you'll have trouble with.
