help, 1st and 3rd gear jumping out of gear and grinding

good day, was wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me whats wrong, I have a cobalt ss sc and have a twm sts installed, was working fine for months, but now when I put the car in first or third i hear a grind and the gear jus pops out and goes into neutral, sometimes if I get the gear in, it stays in gear and drive fine< I only get this once in every 10 tries... is this a big and expensive problem? does anyone know what this is about? thanks for your help if u can.

bump for help please.

check roll pins at tranmission shift levers, check adjustment at the driver's shift lever, and hope the trans is not broken ...

^^^^X2 on the roll pins, they tend to break easily on these cars. If it is only partially broken, the tranny will not be going all the way into gear which will cause it to grind / pop out of gear when you let out the clutch pedal. If it snaps completely, you can't shift at all

Search the how to section for "roll pin", not a hard job to do yourself.

It's the Roll Pin

I just picked up my Cobalt from the dealership for the exact same problem. The roll pin backs out and contacts the housing. They showed me this TSB:

Good luck!
