How to change the shift cables?????

How to change the shift cables?????

Anyone know how to change the shift cables on a 06 SS/SC? I have 1st gear 2nd barely goes in,3rd and 4th are ok no 5th and sometimes I have reverse. I just got new shift cables but kinda dumbfounded on how to install them....any help will do thanks

Why do you think it need shift cables if some gears work fine but others dont?

well my brother in law said my cables were stretched and when me and my friend ended up getting down to change the cables the shift linkage came completely off the tranny so it just needed 2 new studs and it was fixed

Glad you got it fixed, your description of problem made it almost impossible to be cables.

And the cables dont really stretch they arent like park brake cables.

yeah and GM is being a bounch of ****** dicks....I tried to take the cables back and they wanted to give me 80.00 back of the 140 i spent on the cables...i told them to **** off

Thats not GM......thats the dealer, they are a business and allowed to do basically whatever they want. Dont be pissed at GM
