How much HP can Auto Tranny hold?
How much HP can Auto Tranny hold?
Hi I'm new to the site and I have a question.
I was wondering if anyone knows how much HP the auto 4T45e tranny?
I'm looking into a bit more horse and I wanna know what I would be limited too.
Thanks,
RedBaseBolt

I'm not at my home computer right now but I'll post it when I get home. I have an article I found on line with all of the transmission stats. I remember the limiting factor was 220 ft/lbs of torque (HP doesn't play in a transmissions statistics). A race prepared trans will handle over 400, but will cost you at least $2500.
Thanks for the info, I'm not too concerned about the cost of getting my tranny upgraded. I'm more concerned about WHERE I could do that. I live about 45 mins away from Toronto.

As far as listings related to transmissions in your area...here goes
Altech Performance - 416-539-0240
P&J Distribution - 416-541-7451
Stingray Autotech - 905-569-9333
Total Motor Sports - 905-954-0171
That should be a good start for you, I hope the information is accurate but can't guarantee anything, calling all those numbers would make for one hell of a long distance bill for me. It turns out that there are very few shops in Ontario that seem to specialize in this, they were actually all listed under the Tranny/Converter/Differentials section. Sorry it took so long to get it up I left the damn book back home and had to drive to get it on top of installing my friends stereo system for him.
There is one last place but it would be quite the drive for you but thought I'd shoot it out there anyways. There is a performance shop half way between London and Stratford called K&K Racing and Performance and is owned by someone I know. They have actually build their own drag car which they take up to Grand Bend, etc. every summer and it has done quite well. This is the only place of the bunch that I have seen prove their abilities, but that's one hell of a long drive for you to make for a transmission (and I'm not real sure how you'd get back home
Hope some of these help you out (if not then at least this is one big post
