Thumbs down Hurst S S problem

WOW i never thought installing a Short Shifter would be so hard. I did everything the directions said and it wouldnt work( I would out it in second and the whole shifter would SPIN) I Know sounds stupid but I put my old one back in for now and now The old one feels like it wont go in to second. It pops in to gear insted of sliding.

if anyone has had this prob plz let me know what the heel to do b4 my tranny drops out of the bottom.

my hurst will spin a full 360, but i've just been dealing with it for the past few months. that screw you had to put in with an alan key, i've heard its too short, and you need a bigger one, and loctite. i've been too lazy to try, but i think i'll get around to it soon.

after a couple of go's at it, i installed the hurst perfectly and still got shorter shifts while keeping my lockout ....get a better set-screw...and dont be afraid to screw around with both cables...assuming that everything is SMOOTH once you are complete

sounds like you have the cup that goes around the pivot ball on backwards. pop the center console off and take a pic for us.

Well i got a drill and drilled a little indention where the set screw meets the shifter. Just so i will set in there alittle bit. Works like a charm now and feels solid as a rock. As for your other proble, your just gonna have to take ur time and adjust the cables. Its not hard it just takes some patience.
