hurst shifter

Unless you are very mechanically inclined, I would not recommend doing it. It took one of my techs about 1.5 hours to install it start to finish and he is very talented. You should have gone with B&M though. Hurst re-uses the factory plastic bushings where as B&M has solid billet aluminum.

- dont strip the cheap set-screw like i did
- use the loc-tite
- ADJUST BOTH CABLES...many people complain that reverse lockout doesnt work...it didnt work wen i first installed it on mine eitehr...until i ADJUSTED BOTH CABLES...now the shifts are as smooth as butter AND i got my lockout

You only have to adjust the white clipped cable to get reverse lock out working and by doing this you misalign 3rd. That's why I took mine out and chopped down the stock one. Much nicer.
I'd recommend getting a good set screw at home depot.or where ever. The one that comes with it sucks.

Wow guys, come on, i am decent at best with mechanical things and only took me like 45 mins. As for the set screw, dont even try to use it. If you do, the shifter will move around alot. Either re-thread it and use a bigger set screw, or do what i did and drill out a small indention in the shifter so the set screw will go into the shifter about 2 millimeters.......now its solid as it can be.

I just put mine in last Saturday. It is not difficult at all....just a little confusing at first when have the console apart. IMO, the Hurst instruction were BS. Over-all, I like the shifter. It shifts perfect...Reverse Lock-Out not used on mine.

You can make it work. Just adjust the cable that is connected with the white and gray connector. If you take your time you will love it. The people that dont like it are the ones that just throw it together real fast and dont take there time to adjust it.

took me an hour. the directions suck. make sure to label the positions of the cables with a marker (that you can see). You only have to disconnect the right hand side cable (passenger side). DO NOT under any circumstances disconnect the drivers side cable. What a pain in the ass. Make sure you put it in a gear you know.

15 mins with frequent beer breaks, about a 3-4/10 dificulty level
5 mins, just requires a little force

Yikes I did the TWM swap on my old 2.2 and it was a breeze. Is it worth it to swap in a short throw on the SS? I guess I mean is the difference that night and day like it was on the 2.2.

mine only will twist a little to the left but it won't even move a little when you twist it right so on up shifts it feels fine but i feel like its going to fall apart on me on the down shifts!
