Having said that, I also just ordered a Hurst and I am hoping the reverse lock out works for me, as I have been used to it in several cars.

for me I dont care, but I wanted to post and let everyone know tey are aware and am working on the problem. Jim did say that anyone that didnt want to deal with it in the meantime should return the shifter to their place of purchase for a refund.
he was pleased that I told him except that, I LOVE the shifter!

hurst probs
i just installed my hurts shifter on my 06 ss/sc and i have got 2 porbs. 1st is that the botom of the rev lockout hits the plastic piece that sits on top and actually holds the whole shift assembly down and in place. it hits the plastic lip on the left side so it is super hard to shift into 1st and 2nd. my second prob is that the 1st prob is sorta fixed. i am getting the wobble from the plastic set screw that they include in the kit. the wobble has fixed the plastic hitting the rev lockout but now my effing shifter wobbles. anyone have any ideas? i have contacted hurst/ b&m tech support and they are having their design engineer call me or something like that.

i love my hurst, i had problems with that set screw, it wouldnt stay tight even with the locktight so me and my budddy driled it out and put a large screw in there, that sorted that out.
as for reverse lock out, mine works fine, although i have never tried to put it in reverse with out lifting it up.
overall its a nice shifter, really smooth

Haz l33t wheelz.
Mine is perfect, and you guys got a plastic set scre, just go to home depot and buy a metal one.
Reverse lockout has always work, just as smoothly and even better than it did stock. Make sure its adjusted correctly. I think thats where most of these shifter issues come from. I doubt Hurst just half assed it, and half the shifters work, and half don't. Sounds like installer error, not to be an ass, just the way it looks.
look at the How to on here, its a really good one.

ok. i went to the hardware store and got a better replacement set screw for like 36 cents (one that wouldnt srtipout when i tightened it) used some liquid locktite and that prob is fixed. then i got out the air dremel and ground off a good chunk of the left bottom square of the reverse lockout. works like a champ!
no problems what so ever now. after minor adjustments it is a great shifter.
