I need some help.
I need some help.
I have a 2.4ss, and I have a couple issues. I have 80,000 miles and I have had this annoying humming sound that sounds like it is in the left front. I have taken the wheel off and tried listening to the hub but all I could hear is the pad rubbing in the rotor, also i tried shaking the wheel side to side and it wouldn't move. The noise does change tone a lil bit when turning but the noise has been the same for several thousand miles now. Today I noticed something a lil different I was pulling out of my buddy's driveway and was making a sharp right hand turn and it felt like the car skipped or the right wheel was trying to pull but slip and then caught traction again. I didn't get on it hard just pretty much an easy take off. Could it be my cv joint going?
Also I don't know if this is related but now I seem to have a brake fluid leak. How can I find out where its leaking.
And one more thing if a synchro is shot would the gear still be able to go in when down shiffting and stay in place, but pops out when you put a load on it? The other day my second gear worked for a breif time and then I punched it and it popped out.
Thanks for help guys I really appreciate any help, i'm so broke right now so taking it to a mechanic to have it looked at isn't going to happen.

You remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper, remove the brake rotor, then out comes the hub.
A word of advice: get help
My hub barely came off with the help of a torch and a sledge after 40k, i can't even FATHOM what yours will be like.

wel, removing any wheel bearing is harder than installing a new one, but for install use a press an if you dond have a press, lay a piece of wood across the top of the bearing and beat the **** out of it untill it is fully seated against the back
buy thge bearings on ebay, most places only sell the hubs, save your self some money and replace the bearings in the hubs, you will have to find the part number somewhere, or look on your bearings

You can't replace the wheel bearing, it's an "unserviceable part"
You have to replace the entire hub as one peice.

what about that hub? it said it had 10000miles before it was taken off.
It sounds like its gonna be fun replacing it.
