So I have been noticing my shifter feels really loose in 1/3/5. There is quite a bit of play to the point where it feels like it almost can go into neutral. From what I have read that seems to be the issues. I would like to know if there is anything stronger/more reliable compared to the roll pin it came with. Thanks for any and all input.

I had the same problem with my roll pin, i have tried many different things to get it to work better. my best thing has been the 3/16in roll pin by 1.25in long. tightens the shifter right up as to i hear people using a bolt and screw, but that just ruins the linkage and there is still a lot of play in the shifter.

That looks fairly easy to do, I assume I can pick these roll pins up at an Auto zone or something. I will try the 1.25x3/16 pin. Thank you sir, I appreciate the quick and helpful responses.

i fixed mine with a roll pin from a dodge caravan's tranny lol. it was the same size as stock, but solid, not rolled, and it was knurled on the OD. this made for a lit of a tigher fit, and a really solid feel. it was two years ago now, and i cannot remember what year it was from unfortunately.

See I want to go with something solid, a rolled design seems like the worst idea for the application. Maybe if I go to the hardware store I can find something similar

If you run a stronger pin (bolt) then you run the risk of transmission damage is word on the street in that thread.

yes the transmission needs the flex from the rolled design, and do not go to any autoparts store, they dont have one nor will they know what your talking about. the dealer will charge you a whole bunch of money for one. Your best bet is to go to a hardware store they are like 88 cennts a piece buy a few of them, just incase you drop one, which you most likely will.

Oh and yes this is a fairly easy fix
