Issues with bleeding the slave/throw out bearing

Have a cobalt ss/sc that has been swapped to a turbo. Installed a new ZZP stage 3 clutch and during bleeding it has blown out two throw out bearings. Then a friend said something about it needing the ZZP adjustable clutch rod. Is this true? Is something irregular with the zzp stage clutches? I'm at a loss for words here.

The info on the adjustable rod says something about that with aftermarket clutches you could possibly over extend the TOB which must be what is happening to you. Does your clutch engage really high?

I had the same problem with a stage 3 clutch the dealer installed. Blew the TOB out in 3 days. I installed the adjustable rod and shortened it to its shortest length. Make sure you use a new pipe with the TOB. After bleeding if the pedal needs adjusted then lengthin the rod. The rods a pain to put in the slave even on the bench but it works

thanks jeff, I can't even get the thing to bleed right. Soon as pressure builds it blows out. I already told the kid to get the rod...hopefully it helps.

I used the old method to bleed it Put a half bottle on brake fluid on the floor under the car and ran a hose from the bleeder fitting to the bottle. Pumped the pedal a couple times and opened the fitting for a second. Did that about 4 or 5 times and it was bleed. I didnt even have to lengthen the rod yet. About 2000 miles on the clutch setup which is a Spec Stage 3 w aluminum flywheel
