Just got KY Clutch
Hey all,
This is just an install and progress thread. I just ordered my clutch from Kentucky Clutch this past friday and it arrived yesterday. I will be putting it in next weekend hopefully. After talking to chris at KY I decided I would go with this and try it out for myself. There have been a lot of different opinions going around as far as I can tell regarding KY clutches. I will be sure to take my time and do the install correctly and break it in correctly also so that I can really see what this clutch is like and hopefully put up some good feedback as I go.

Sorry about that, I posted the thread from my phone, so no sig with that, but it should appear after this, but I'll elaborate anyways. HPTuned to 23 psi, made 362wtq on a dynojet. Other than HPTune I have a catless downpipe and airbox mod. The clutch will hopefully be going in this coming weekend.

Just a quick update, went to the shop I am doing this at this weekend, but we didn't get a chance to put my clutch in due to an overflow of work, so the plan is this coming Saturday first thing in the morning. I had our head mechanic take a look at the clutch still though and they said its an awesome clutch based on his experience with other clutches of the same type/apparent build quality...so we will see.

Hey bro my name is james im the one who had ky clutch basically test there systems out on my car and a few of the ones ive built. If you got the newer version clutches these pressure plates are reliably holding 650 ft lbs and.friction disc same. I have installed 8 new revised versions and all but one guy love them. The one guy is dblock..... He didnt like it because he didnt like the fact it had no slippage even in 5th hahahah. So he had me put a stocker back in.... Engagement point is close to stock... ..
I tested there 8 puck. 6 puck. Full face ceramics. New revised clutch different pressure plate clutch. And ect....
if you ever have a issue call chris and he can help you out or let me know and ill let chris know..

only way id consider ky clutch is if i can get it to be the same way as the zzp s4 clutch yet be cheaper. the zzp s4 apparently feels just like stock, you can slip it, etc and it still holds 400+ torque with no problem.

would it be easier just to call Chris and ask? The only reason I ask is because my kit is sitting at the shop that I am doing it at, which is about a half hour from me and I probably won't be going down there for at least a few days, but I can always just send it to you then and find out. Either way it's going in my car.

Ok everyone, installed the clutch yesterday, and this job really is not as bad as it sounded. It took about 3.5 hours from start to finish. I will post a better update at some point, I am on my phone now and just can't do it justice like this. Lol. But, just to say, this clutch grabs awesome already, can't wait to get it good and broken in!

How's the clutch engagement point? James said it's just like stock, hope so. Also, can you do any slipping? The way I drive is I slow let off the clutch while giving it gas. Then I let go completely of the clutch after I'm rolling.
Let me know how hill driving and traffic driving is too.
Thanks

Yeah engagement depends on which clutch (also how much wear the master cylinder has) .. But you should replace that if you replace the t.b .. You can slip a ceramic clutch but the life will go down depending on the type of slippage you give it. Like that your saying thats not alot of slippage...
