Kind of a weird question... Shifter stiffness
Between my car with F23, and I've driven an ss/sc with F35, the F35 shifter is hella loose, and springy in neutral. My F23 shifter is very stiff and takes some force to move it around. (not a lubrication issue as I've applied some lubricant after my STS install) I just want to know if are all F23 shifters as stiff as mine? Or is mine just not "broken in" yet? I only have about 6,600 miles.
My shifter in my LS never felt as springy as the shifter in my TC; in fact I would agree it always felt more stiff and far less precise now that I've put almost 10,000km on the TC. I traded it in after 4 years of owning it (with 64,000km) and while it never got "loose" it worked in a bit. My friend drove it a few times (he has always owned Hondas) and mentioned it was still stiff for the amount of KMs on it if that helps at all.
Mine seems to feel different dependent on throw speed. Plus I'm not sure anymore how I am supposed to move the shifter. Do I go directly toward the next gear, or should I pull straight up or down into "neutral" and then move laterally and up or down? From 1 to 2 should I pull straight down or towards my body (down and slight left)? I have not been shifting consistently lately and I am trying to figure out the best way.
