KY Clutch - Interest Thread

Well after speaking with KY Clutch, and other forum members, we are gauging interest in offering these kits.

We would offer them on our site, as it would be very easy to order.
You would not have to call or wait to working hours.
Easy to view our great pricing.
Kits would all INCLUDE a slave/TOB.

Kits seem to have proven very well, I believe. We have setup 4 series of "stage kits" which should meet the requirements of all members on the forum.

Whats your thoughts?

We will be posting the 4 stage kits and what each one is soon, with torque ratings also.

Pricing should be the best value of any high performance clutch kit out there!

Price will be equal or less than if you go to KY direct, we will buy in volume and pass savings onto you. Yet we will offer you the ease of ordering online!

This is a win-win for all members here

I am sure we can get photos, remember this is an interest thread... We are working on being a distributor for them.

Plus, no one sees the clutch, it is meant to hold power, it can look pretty, and not hold a go cart! All clutch kits look the same, it is the details of the materials.

Hopefully we can get the ball rolling on this. It would be a very nice setup for a tight budget.
I'll get Tq ratings on clutches as well ....

Thanks.

Here are the stage kits for the LSJ/LNF 2.0L F35 trans:

Slave/TOB will be optional, but available for all kits.

Stage 1 2000 LB PP, Kevlar full face Disc/Double Sprung - 300 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 2 2000 LB PP, Kevlar/Ceramic 6 puck Disc/Double Sprung - 365 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 3 2400 LB PP, Ceramic 6 puck Disc/Double Sprung - 475 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 4 2600 LB PP, 4 puck ceramic disc/Double Sprung - 500+ ft lbs torque capacity (Not recommended for daily driving)

*Most LSJ's can choose any stage they like, keeping in mind the ratings.
*LNF's should focus around the stage 3 due to the high Torque output of the engine.

I just called and spoke with KY about ordering one. The 2 options he said would work for me would be a 6 puck to hold 450ft lbs, or a combination Kevlar / puck that would hold 375-400ft lbs. I won't mention prices in here, but if these 2 would be options for you then I would be a customer. I understand the purpose of this thread, but I do have to ask, what kind of time frame are you seeing to have these ready to order? I am almost ready to pull the trigger on a clutch but would love to wait and see how you offer them?

EDIT: You posted that right as I was typing... The only question is when will you have this ready?

Also, do you agree that the Kevlar / puck combo would be in the 375-400 range, or closer to what you call stage 2 at 365?

The stage two is rated to 365 not past 365 .... So yes its fine... And when ordering a clutch always remember to order the correct one.

Here are the stage kits for the 2.2/2.4L F23 trans:

Slave/TOB will be optional, but available for all kits.

Stage 1 2000 LB PP, Kevlar full face Disc/Double Sprung - 300 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 2 2000 LB PP, Kevlar/Ceramic 6 puck Disc/Double Sprung - 365 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 3 2400 LB PP, Ceramic 6 puck Disc/Double Sprung - 475 ft lbs torque capacity
Stage 4 2600 LB PP, 4 puck ceramic disc/Double Sprung - 500+ ft lbs torque capacity (Not recommended for daily driving)

Ratings are the same, clutch kits are obviously different.

Yes as James stated, we and KY are working on very special kits, designed around what works best for the Cobalts. It will be much more clear this way, and everyone will know what they are getting.

Once we finalize pricing (hopefully by tomorrow) we will let everyone know and add these products to the site.

We will see what KY states about offering a full face disc option on the stage 2 & 3, how about that?

This is where I am too. I would like to not have to go to pucked clutch (for longevity of the clutch) and be able to hold low 400's hp if possible.
