Level 5 Axles

I've ordered all the mods for my car. The only thing i didn't order yet is the level 5 axles from driveshaftshop. I don't know if it is worth it, considering also that before the end of 2011 I will build my engine entirely. Does anyone of you have it on the T/C? Can you give me some advice? Thank you.

what are they rated too? i just et something rated to 600hp....your turbos maxed at 530. even if you go to the 5857 you will still be right at the 600hp mark. if your not drag racing you dont need crazy axles.

im on 442whp right now and im on the stock axles. been on them for awhile now no issues as of yet. i will upgrade eventually when i do my transmission

The level 5 is rated 800hp.
Once the car is ready, I will do some drag

Stock axles are pretty beefy, people push J-bodies to over 400 HP and the axles on those are pretty small

You should be fine with the stockers

i would get level 3 or 4 then....you dont need to go totally overkill....remember adding internals to your motor doesnt increase hp signficantly.

Really? I read on their website that they only have level 2 (400hp) or level 5 (800hp)

level 5 axles are definately wasted money if you ask me...something lower maybe not. i know people who have broken the stockers on street tires at the drag strip but if your not going to the drag strip your blowing money away period. stock will definately be fine.

Yea I agree. Also have you check to see what they charge to use you stock axles to make the stronger ones. I was quoted 100.00 per axle to rebuild them as strong as stock again.

I was quoted to rebuild them to stock spec. He said the price would increase as the stregth went up. So I was just saying to ask about it, may be cheaper to let them rebuild them. I think it was like 300 a side or so for the 6-800hp

Interesting, I will look into it.
Do you guys know if the LSJ axles are the same as the LNF? Because if so, I will get the stage 3 from zzp.

They are different. The lnf has different hubs.

Then my options are either stock or level 5.
Basically I'm looking for the highest hp possible, because I'm planning to bring the car with me to Italy when I go there (usually I try to go there for 2-3 month every year). There are some places where they do top speed contests, I was wondering what's the highest speed that the Cobalt SS can reach
