LNF-LSJ Axle compatibility

Ive been looking into beefing up my drivetrain and I was wondering if aftermarket LSJ axles work with the LNF/TC. is the diameter of the axle the only difference? Same spline count and fit? Im curious only because im skeptical that the CV Joints will like romping around with 340lbft at the wheels for a few years.

If anyone has had issues with your stock LNF axles, please chime in. If i get a failure id be looking at driveshaft stage 2 axles but i wasnt sure if these were directly compatible.
Thanks

I Believe the DSS only has the axles for the SS LSJ at the current time. LNF axles are stronger than the LSJ. I don't recall anyone having issues yet on their LNF, but could be wrong.

Perfect. This is what we last heard about a month or two ago.

No they will not fit. LNF has larger hubs to accommodate the bigger axles

lnf hubs wont fit in an lsj knuckle.
u need pontiac grand am wheelbearings which have the correct reluctor tooth count to run your abs, plus machining same to fit your rotors/wheels/pcd and center bore, along with the LNF knuckle and the axle. then it will work.
or plug in the entire LNF knuckle, bearing and axle and ignore abs not working. Not recommended.

good luck. we mod this for folks, its custom and its not cheap, works great. I run this stuff on my RL, with a 300m special axle shaft ( lighter than LNF and stronger)

Grand am wheel bearing is already 5 x 114.3 but it has 10 holes, and the second set is 5 x 110. The 5 x 114.3 is actually 4.5 inch pcd, same as Mustang etc, so lots of wheels fit. These Pf01 are 9.5 inch wide 18's, not available in 5 x 110.

So it can work on an LSJ ... with some time effort and $ . Good luck with your project.

Note to all. The LNF hubs are the same as the Malibu ,G6, Aura as well as the abs . When I order hubs I order them for those cars and they allways match up.

Further note to all: the break for wheel bearing vss tooth count is 2008 -10 (LNF) for what Mongorat is talking of;. 2004-07 Redline, 2005-07 Cobalt LSJ is different ss tooth count, so you have to machine grand am wheel bearings (2004 or so) to use LNF axles and knuckles and keep abs for those early cars. (LSJ)
without correct tooth count abs doesnt work.

A little bit off topic, but does anyone know what type of machining is required to get the g6 knuckle to work on an lsj with lsj axles and lsj brakes? I read that the competition knuckle is basically a g6 knuckle with some machining.

I think it might be a better route for some of us lsj guys just to get the upgraded axles and machine a couple g6 knuckles (the competition knuckle is outrageously priced). This would eliminate the need for new hubs for us who don't need lnf axles who still want stronger axles and knuckles.
