Lower 2.0 block Girdle

Does anyone know if the lower block girdle or saddle is the same on all newer 2.0s or even 2.2-2.4.

If you're refferring to the lower half of the engine block, this is a two part answer.

Yes they're the same design. However they cannot be interchanged between engine blocks.

Basically the upper and lower portions of the engine that surround the crankshaft are cast as one piece. Then the block is line bored for the main journals and split down the middle. So the lower crankcase from any ecotec engine is specific to that engine and that engine alone.

If you're asking whether or not the crank journals are the same size between the 2.2/2.4 and 2.0 Ecotecs... I don't have the answer for that. I'd have to look it up.
