IIRC, the size is the difference that will cause the problems. I know the F23 clutches are much smaller. I think the part of the bell housing that bolts to the engine block is smaller too. If you want an lsd, Quaife, the manufacturer of the G85 option on the SS/SC also makes a coversion for the F23. Another think you might want to consider is an aftermarket open differential. It's much cheaper and can be installed on the F23. I'm not sure who makes one, but I know it is available. I have a friend that did this for a auto tranny on a LE5 Cobalt coupe.

If you are looking for a way to maximize your acceleration, go with the F23 for the HHR. The final drive gearing is larger.

Sweet that helps out umm yeah so the hhr has a larger final gear so it should help out that way of acceleration do u know how much difference there is between the final ratios?

I talked to a guy at a local dealer he said they use a mn5 trannie with a cobalt being a 3.91 ratio and an hhr being a 3.29 idk
