motor mount problems?
motor mount problems?
so i have been chasing a clunk and i was looking at my upper motor mount and found that it is buckled kinda, like the motor has been pushed to the passenger side and is pushing laterally on the mount. My question is, is the motor mount supposed to look like this and can somebody take a measurement of the gap between the piece that attached to the motor and the piece to the body are so i can see if it has shifted or not (as shown in second picture). i am not sure what would cause this as the rubber seems to be in good shape and has no tears or anything in it.

It also seems as if the motor has shifted to the passenger side because the top is being pushed over sideways

Well suppose best i can tell you to do is take the mount out and have a good look at it. they do have a good amount of 'squishyness' to them but if your motor is being pushed to one side that tells me either a mount is going bad or the engine wasn't aligned properly on the mounts. has the engine been out before or a mount replaced?
ps it is really hard to tell with your pics; id go look at mine but my trans is out so wouldn't do us any good hah
