My car...
My car...
So as some of you have heard, my car is broke down right now. As of Saturday I was en route to the dream cruise when I lost all useage in my clutch. I was driving (just crusing) and it went down to the floor from 2nd gear to 3rd. Clutch was holding steady and working very well for the amount of mileage I was able to achieve on it before something went out. I do want to splurg the money to buy a new clutch and flywheel but that will be funds pending..
The dealership looked at it today and found out that it's either the pressure plate or the actual clutch pedal broke. Either way it's going to be a very costly repair since I guess this equipment is not covered under warranty on my extended warranty. I am fighting them on this right now since it's actually not a wearable item according to GM Customer Care and is part of the powertrain warranty.
My birthday is at the end of the month and once again I will not be able to drive this car on my birthday again because it broke down this same time last year.. They will also not look at a leak I am having right now just above the passenger side a-pillar. Water seems to be coming in at a steady rate when it rains and guess where my car will be when it's not being looked at with the dealership....outside..
They said this is also not covered under warranty.
I once again told them that whats the point of having a warranty if nothing is ever covered on it, all I heard was crickets on the other end of the GM Customer care line speaking to a manager. If anyone wants to generously donate for a good cause on my birthday to fix my car (even the little bit helps) they can do so... it would mean alot..
The one thing that really got me was they used a pry bar to pop my clutch in the upward position again (why?) Doesn't that damage anything? I digress.... Time to turn my service page to page 15 (broken pressure plate).
Thoughts?

I don't see why they say that the clutch is not under warranty. I understand it's a wearable item, but if it goes out way before it's supposed to, they should fix it. (unless you drive like ****, which I assume you do not and they would have to know you drive like **** to say they won't fix it.)
67,xxx miles and I baby this car. I must express the clutch itself is not bad it's the pressure plate that is bad. I have to double clutch often to get it in the desired gear I wanted before this happened to build pressure.
I told them about it before and they said it's normal. uh yah double clutching often is normal? Well it finally went out and of course they won't do anything about it!

at 67,000 miles it will be hard to get it under warranty, its possible though, I got a new clutch and tranny from wheelhop under warranty. I just had to tell them my little lie and keep pushing for it and they said screw it and covered it.
