need help on shifter linkage/shifter diagnosis

just got my car out of the transmission shop from diagnosis seems my shifter is goin to far into 1st and 3rd then not enough into 2nd and 4th. They believe the internals are fine. We inspected shifter linkage but because of the rubber covering couldnt tell if it was stretched. Before I replace the linkage could it be anything else, say shifter issues, broken roll pin, or something else im missing - thanks for the help

forgot to post 09 cobalt ss

Exclamation I'd look at the shift cable adjustment.

Check out this thread for some pointers.

I believe Gettingausernamesucks is a GM engineer.

Hope this helps !

thank you for the response. After searching these forums and reading posts of similar problems I have identified it as a bent shifter linkage at the shifter and the dealership is ordering the part as we speak! Sofa king glad it isnt internal $$ .
