This has given me the best MPG for MY vehicle. It will vary from vehicle to vehicle...so just try a few and see how it works for you. Mind you...this is for REGULAR driving.

If speed is the motivation...things are entirely different.
Why do you drive 110 miles to work, is that a once a week thing?

Ok... shift at about 2500 rpm..... 2k is a little low and 3k isnt bad but 2500 is best....
and B
DO NOT GO ON WHAT THE STUPID DIGITAL DISPLAY SAYS.........
you do NOT get as good of gas mileage as what it says so STOP using it!!!!
i measured mine the correct way and i got 23 when the stupid display said 26. kinda like when the temperature outside is "104" that is incorrect as well.

Driving with your RPM's below 2000 is hard on your transmission. Takin it easy is one thing but shifting @ 2500rmp is just silly, you end up in 5th @ 40MPH lol...

you will be at about 2300rpm if you are goin 60 in 5th and around 50 at 2k rpm. 2500 rpm is the normal shifting rpm on a automatic car driving easy..... so it isnt silly

automatic trannys is a hugely different animal... it's not the same at all when shifting low for a manual. It IS hard on the tranny. What do you think those vibrations in the pedal are when you shift so low and get on the gas again ?

I try to shift around 2000rpm to save gas. I also try and stay in 5th even when im doing 40(You don't get any acceleration though). The more rolling you do, the better mpg's you'll get.

Whats the sence of saving gas if your not goin to burn it every once in a while!
