I have a 06 ss 5speed and it doesnt go into any gear. i can move the shifter in a complete circle no resistance anywhere. i think can see the shift linkage move under the fuse box. could this still be a rollpin issue? of am i more f***** than i think. i can also move the shifter around while car is running without clutch pressed in.
Pretty good chance it is the roll pins, relatively simple fix just a bitch to get to. You'll get to get access to the arms and rods to have someone move the shifter while you look at them.

But don't rollpins usually break while in a gear tho? Is there a easy way to verify that this is the problem?
Not always, you have to visually inspect the arm and rod on the transmission. If the arm moves but the rod doesn't then its a roll pin.
What's the arm and what's the rod? There's the 2 pivot points on the trans one for up and down and one for left and right. Those are the arms I imagine. So the rods are coming from the shifter. One of the arms move with the rod for the front to back movement. But not left and right. Does that mean if the trans was good I should have 3rd and 4th gear.
Start simple. Pull your cupholders up. Lift the back first (the flat side closest to the stereo). They're real easy to remove.
From there, look down. You should be able to see the shifter cables. See if those are moving or not when you move the shifter.
Driver's side cable is the side to side. Passenger side is for front to back movement. If either one of those isn't moving, then you need to remove your shifter and inspect. Again. Not that hard to do. Report back when you can.
