Is this noise normal?

I think I have a bad wheel bearing in my 06 SS G85 but can't diagnose it. I jacked up each side and did the wiggle test and both hubs seem nice and tight. But it has a growling or humming sound coming from the RF tires. You can even feel it in the floorboard now. My guess is its the bearing because that's the most expensive part lol.

I jacked up each side separately and when you spin the front tires they make a light clicking sound and don't spin very freely. Could this be the LSD? making the clicking because the opposite tire is on the ground while trying to spin the other side? I'm just afraid of replacing one side and having an alignment done, then end up having to replace the other side and pay another $60 for an alignment. Are these wheel bearings prone to failure? It has 90k miles on it. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

I had the same sounds. May not be the same issue. My wheels clicked too when up in the air. I believe it's normal. But I'm not LSD, so it may be different. But I found a couple of my lugs were loose. Does the sound get louder or worse at certain times/speeds?

Going to get it inspected by the place that put my tires on just to be sure its not the tire. But yea the noise is constant. The faster you go the louder it gets. It sounds like a 2nd motor spinning because you can hear how many RPMs the car is pulling and when you push in the clutch you can hear what sounds like a 2nd motor at a different RPM. Called my local dealer and they wanted $356 just for the hub assembly. What a rip off!

Did you check to see if the noise goes away when you turn the wheel a specific direction? That's another sign of a bad wheel bearing.

Yes, it gets a rougher sound when you turn hard left. That's what makes me think its the right front.

Spin the wheel and hold the spring. If you feel something that indicates a wheel bearing

It was most definitely the RF bearing. Had a local tire shop swap it out because they cut me a break. $320 installed. I thought that might be pricey but considering they had it done in an hour and ten minutes and it was less than it would cost me to have bought it from the local GM dealers ($356 for the part alone).

When I bought the car it had the p-zero tires and they were severely cupped! This is likely why the bearings are starting to fail. It used to be so bad the steering wheel shook in your hands. I thought this might come back to haunt me. IT DID!
