Do they throw balancing weights off like the Corvettes and need replacement? Or is there a cheaper option? It seems like just re-aligning it won't work, because wouldn't it do it on its own the first time I pushed the clutch in while I was driving?
Oh. Well mine was fine for years until getting on it yesterday. The car stalled, and wouldn't start until after 5 minutes. After it started, it got a real bad vibration starting at 2500 rpms, and gets worse with higher revs. It does this whether the clutch is engaged or not.
Anyone have trouble with the crank dampers going out on these cars yet? I know it is a common problem in the Mustang world. I looked mine over when I had it on the lift today, but didn't notice anything. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to start the car and watch it though.
when you installed the clutch did you line up the markings on the pressure plate and flywheel? that's the marks for which it was balanced.
I know they make crazy noise coasting, every one I've seen does it
but I"ve run one in my car for about 2 years with no problems, and now it;s in another car for a year and has been fine, and infe on here did his about a year ago and it's been fine (just chattering pretty bad, but that could be from when his trans blew and sprayed fluid on the clutch)

Yes, it is all lined up properly. As I said, it has been fine for years, then after a pull I got a real bad vibration. I'm fairly certain a balancing weight came off the flywheel.
