Ordered myself an Ingalls Stiffy

Just purchased an Ingalls ETD from TurboTechRacing.com. I can't wait for it to get here in the mail and say goodbye to wheel hop and violent engine movement!! Who else here has or has had the Ingalls, and what is your opinion of it? I searched and read through everything and now I want some fresh responses to read.

as far as street is concerned, unless you launch WAY to hard, you will get rid of nearly all your wheelhop....

at the track it does a good job, but doesnt completely ditch the hops.

All in all i was very happy with the time i spend with an ETD on my car.

I don't plan on getting mounts actually. I may run this car at the track, but I will launch it gently. Not like i'm going to sit at 5k and dump the clutch when the lights go green. It's 99% for street use and to get rid of the annoying engine movement and wheel hop. Has anyone cracked their tranny case by just using the damper, or was it from previous wheel hop before the damper was installed?

No problem man. Order went smooth as butter, no problems at all and a great price as well. You'll be hearing from me again that's for sure.

I have a TD and love it. I am getting ready to match it up to a set of poly tranny mounts. And btw this is on my DD. Ive had the TD on the car for around six months and never had any trouble out of it.

ahaha! wow look who it is! whats up stranger.... Ok well i have to admit that if you ever intend on changing the pulley or taking the blower off that you should remove the TD. Bc that thing does get in the way when working on the car! ahah you happy Wicked? I came clean!

Quick question. I got my Ingalls today and plan to install it tomorrow after class. Does the motor need to be supported, or does the 1 screw that is left in keep the motor in place? Just wondering, never dicked around with the mounts on an LSJ before. Thanks guys

Got it installed. Seems to have stiffened things up considerably, car now has a nice sporty feel to it. I have the damper adjusted to 12mm. It was POURING rain yesterday, and when I did get on it in 1st I got wheel hop. Is this normal for you guys also running the stiffy, or is mine fucked up or something? I could tighten it a little more I guess but I heard at 12mm the hop should be almost gone. I've been hearing a lot of good things about it, but the car still hops and skips its way down the road. Once the roads clear up i'll take it out again for a little rip and see if I notice a difference. But right now i'm kind of pissed with it.

Yea in the rain the dam car tends to hop but on dry pavment it don't, I don't understand why it will hop on wet roads as you think if the enginge movement causes the hop then with no traction there would be no resistance to cause engine movement?

Have had mine on for over a year. You still get a tad bit of wheel hop on hard launches. Just fine tune it.

Ah, ok. It's significantly decreased in the rain, but it still does it. I let off when it happens. It's been wet for the past 3 days here, but yesterday I got to drive on some dry roads (lots of traffic). I opened it up, redlined 1st, went to grab 2nd, and roasted the tires all through 2nd gear. Pure spinnage. Very pleased with the ingalls and the way it has stiffened up my car. You can hear the engine a lot more inside the car, which I LOVE. Also has a little more vibes, but again nothing serious. I might stiffen it up maybe 11mm or 10mm, but for now I think i'm just going to stick with 12mm.

yes, the Ingalls is a great choice if you want to keep the vibes down.... I do some Auto-X and road course events, but mostly commuting and a it's perfect solution for daily driving.
My buddy has the poly engine and tranny mounts, which provide much better launch and hop control, but the vibes are crazy....

Yeah I hear ya man, this is my daily driver (winter and summer) so mounts are out of the question for me. I like the extra vibes and sound, but I think solid mounts and prothane bushings would be a little excessive from what i've read on here.

Well I tightened it up to 10mm. Pure wheelspin now. Hops a LITTLE if the ground is wet, or if I go WOT from a roll on damp ground. Little bit more vibes but I can deal. It's nothing too bad at all.

That's where I have mine set as well. After many tests that is what some have to be at. You will still get a lil hop when it is wet though, so don't get pissed off.
