Ottp Shifter Review
Ottp Shifter Review
picked one of these up last week. i had a B&M for several years that i was never really too excited about. anyways, a few pics and an initial review.
installation: easy as pie, took about 35 minutes. after i received it (1 day from order confirmation to my front door, thanks ottp for prompt service) i put some white lithium grease on the contact spots and popped it in. the how-to posted by TWM helps a bit also. after a couple minimal cable adjustments, each gear engaged correctly.
looks/feel: looks awesome, although i think i'll probably polish the stainless knob in the near future. it's a real smooth, weighty feel when shifting. i also have the upgraded lnf cable brackets, which help. the reverse lockout spring is pretty stout, which took a day of getting used to. as far as the actual throw, it feels about the same as the B&M, although i don't typically rip through gears when there's 3 inches of snow on the ground so i haven't tried that out yet.
overall: big time upgrade over the B&M imo, extremely happy with my purchase. i would recommend this shifter to anyone that asked.
a few pics:
daytime

night time (maybe not as useful but still cool)

i went from the b&m to this, so i can't really compare the difference from a stock shifter. feels about the same as the b&m, just way smoother.
nothing was wrong with it, worked well for several years. i never really like the shift knob, just wanted something bigger and heavier, that's all.
