OTTP Shifter review

So I got this shifter because my stock shifter felt terrible, notchy as can be. I was always adjusting the shifter to try and get it to feel right, lubing the crap out of everything. Although this was to no avail. So thanks to josh I got an awesome deal on his short throw shifter if I did a review! I am more than happy to help out and right a review on it!

Shipping -
Shipping was fast and packed well, josh sent it out the day after I ordered it (ordered it at night). The package was full of wrap and protective packing stuff to keep my new shifter safe and sound.

Initial thoughts -
The shifter is really heavy, which I would consider a good thing. The bottom part that controls side to side movement is very well made, welded on to the shifter. It has a white piece that sits in the piece with the spring which allows for very smooth movement of the shifter. I had a hurst before, and what a horrible piece of crap, I hated my hurst oh so much. The hurst had a metal ball for the side to side piece, and you had to put a tiny little bolt into the lower ball to hold it on there, which never lined up quite right. None of these annoying problems with the ottp shifter.

The top of the shifter comes right off when you remove the black bolt for the reverse lock, easy as can be, and the reverse bolt is a strong bold, not a tiny piece of crap. No problems there. I took apart the shifter and checked out the reverse lock spring and wow what a hefty spring. I am used to it now, but you better not have weak hands! The spring is held in by a piece of metal that threads on, easy to take off as well, very simple and efficient design.

Install -
Took me about 10 minutes. The hurst took forever after fidiling with all the tiny worthless crap that comes with it. The OTTP shifter was super easy to install, it would have taken me 5 minutes but I had to keep running over to the garage to grap tools that I forgot .

Performance
WOW what a difference. The shifting is super smooth now! I am shifting faster with no issues now. The weight of the shifter seems to aid in getting into gear without forcing it like with the stock shifter. The height is perfect, not so short that you feel like you have no movement (I don't like the really short shifters). It did seem to fix alot of my issues with the stock shifter. I have used a twm shifter as well, which to me seemed too short, and I absolutely hated their cable clamp. Their clamp was hard to adjust (impossible to do quickly) and made the shifter feel like their was a ton of resistance. I have used a bps shifter which was actually pretty nice, but still too short for my taste, feels like your accuracy goes down to me (personal preference). The hurst was the biggest waste of money for my car yet.

Appearance -
Looks great, was machined and reflects just the right amount of light. The shine is not too much so it doesn't look like a chrome piece of crap, it looks like a well made car part. I don't want anything to overpower the inside of my car or to look out of place, this shifter looks good.

Overall thoughts -
I love this shifter, it was exactly what I was hoping for. I would by all means would tell anyone who is in the market to buy this shifter. My car shifts like its new, and feels so much better to drive. I love the way it looks, subtle, but you can still tell its an aftermarket part. I would recommend this to anyone who asked me, thank you ottp for the awesome product!
