ouch! my axel hurts
I just got back from leave a few days ago. For the first two weeks I was remembering how much fun it was to drive my SS, then it happened. I went to the local 1/8 mile track two fridays ago and did a few runs. my runs were shitty so I let my friend try...stupid, stupid, stupid. He droped the clutch at some ungodly rpm then we heard a metalic bang then the car just rolled to the end of the track. We thought it was the clutch so instead of taking it to GM we took it to a local shop so I could get my stage III clutch installed. Well, then the guy tells me it's the front axel, so now it's in the shop waiting for the part to come in. This does kinda make sense to me, but I'm not that knowledgable with the drivetrain. Can anyone with more technical know how give me any suggestions/opinions. Thanks

That sucks major ***** man....I'm guessing the wheel hop owned the car on that run. A lot of wheel hop will do that to an axle after a while. I'm not knowlegable on drivetrain either though

Absolutely! 110% without out a doubt.
-The car went hop, hop, hop, snap whine....
-I went "Oh ****."
-Guy at the track "There's a piece of metal back here and a glob of grease."
-The kids is the stands went "Hahahahahahahahahaha!"

I am in the Air Force however, and that would not be good for public relations. I could see the headlines now "Airman severely beats two local children at dragway in a fit of rage." That would really be bad, and I'd probably get punished severly by the Air Force (lose rank, pay, etc.) and by the civilian authorities.
