Hey, I've been having a problem with my shifter ever since I bought the car brand new. The odd time ill shift into 2nd gear and it will pop back into neutral causing me to drop the clutch and rev car...looking like a ******* retard. Well ive removed my console and tried adjusting the cables as per GM. It of course didnt help...and im curious as to what to do. 2nd gear is the only gear that doesnt feel likemy shifter fully engages into.

 

I think our cars just came with some shitty synchros. Not sure but mine does that some time too but you just need to pull on it a little harder into second and dont let off until you release the clutch.

 

You gotta make sure you put it all the way into that gear.

 

either a bad syncro or bad shift fork, or combination of the two. happens all the time with the fift gear but its SO easy to change. warranty should cover it under your 5yr/60k mile warranty if your already out...and your not too modded

 

probably a bad synchro... or a bent shift fork... as DMan here said... you've got a 07... take her in before something else screws up.

Had mine in for popping out of 5th gear 4 times in 4 weeks. The first time they test drove found nothing wrong. 2nd time I took the shop foreman out for a test run and never done it. 3rd time they tightened something idk never got a copy of the work order. And finally 4th time the finally popped out with the shop foreman driving and me as passenger. Just barely tho. Apparently after I went home he was talking to the District Manager and I should be getting a new tranny. I inquired "six speed"? lol.
