repairing of an axle

Would I be able to replace a stud that holds the tire on the axle hub assembly instead of replacing the entire assembly? I kinda stripped a couple studs while getting the bolts back on.

the best way to do it is to take the hub off, drive the old studs out and hammer new ones in.
